The 2025 High Country Traverse is a proposed long-distance hiking trail that would traverse the high country of the Rocky Mountains in Colorado. The trail would be approximately 1,000 miles long and would connect several existing trails, including the Continental Divide Trail, the Colorado Trail, and the Sangre de Cristo Trail.
The proposed trail would provide hikers with an opportunity to experience some of the most spectacular scenery in the Rocky Mountains, including high alpine lakes, mountain meadows, and towering peaks. The trail would also be a challenging one, with significant elevation gain and loss. However, the rewards of completing the traverse would be great, and hikers would have the opportunity to see some of the most beautiful and remote parts of the Rocky Mountains.
